Biography
Samuel Fordham is a multidisciplinary artist and educator based in Bristol, UK.
A graduate of the MA Photography programme at UWE, Bristol, Samuel also enrolled on a one-year mentorship through ISSP Latvia with Gordon MacDonald and Clare Strand (MacDonaldStrand), where he continued to develop his project C-R92/BY.
His work has been shown internationally in the UK, Italy, France, China, Lithuania, Georgia, Latvia and Ireland. His work has won and been selected for awards including Paris Photo Carte Blanche Award, Bloomberg New Contemporaries, Magenta Foundation Flash Forward, AOP Emerging Talent Award, Kaunas Photo Star Award, Production Paradise Emerging Talent Award and the AOP Student Award.
Fordham’s work has been placed in the Government Art Collection and has been featured in publications including, e-flux, The British Journal of Photography, Fisheye, Creativeboom, Rolling Stone Italia, The Royal Photographic Society Journal, The Royal Photographic Society Contemporary Photography Journal, and Time Out. Fordham is a permanent studio holder at Spike Island, Bristol.
Alongside his artistic practice, Fordham is course leader on the BA (Hons) Documentary Photography and Print provision in Bristol for boomsatsuma / The Royal Photographic Society.
Currently, Fordham is developing his next work Nothing Gold Can Stay.
